Seven Afghans arrested

By Anwarullah Khan

KHAR (Bajaur Agency), May 27: The political authorities arrested seven Afghans near here on Friday night and handed them over to a joint interrogation team for investigation.

Officials said that a team of the Levies raided residential compounds in Yousafabad area, about four kilometres from Khar and arrested seven Afghans on charges of involvement in subversive activities.

They were handed over to secret agencies for interrogation. The officials said that the arrested people did not possess legal travelling documents.

The administration had arrested more than 50 Afghans from different parts of the agency and 40 of them had been deported to Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, personnel of the Levies defused a bomb planted near a checkpost in Sadiqabad. Sources said that people detected the time-bomb and immediately informed the bomb disposal squad.
