PESHAWAR: Funds for gas supply to Karak pledged

PESHAWAR, May 27: Minister for Political Affairs Amir Muqam on Saturday announced Rs3 billion grant for development of Northern Areas and gas supply to the Karak district.

He was speaking at a ceremony where the naib nazim of the Karak tehsil, union council nazims and councillors joined the ruling Pakistan Muslim League.

He also attended the opening ceremony of the Karak electricity feeder.

The minister claimed that the PML believed in politics of justice and sincerity, that was why the country was witnessing prosperity and development during its regime.

He also announced Rs18 million for electricity schemes and said work would soon be started on Sabirabad, Chokara and Takht Nusrati grid stations.

Mr Muqam said strict action would be taken against Wapda employees if they resorted to unannounced load-shedding and misbehaved with subscribers.

He said President Gen Pervez Musharraf would visit Karak to launch the gas supply facility in Karak.
