BAHAWALPUR, May 26: A traffic ‘mela’ organised on Friday to create awareness among the people regarding observing rules to avoid inconvenience to others became a nuisance for the motorists as Farid Gate chowk was closed to the vehicular traffic.

As a ‘traffic walk’ and the inaugural function was to be held at Farid Gate, people were stunned when they found all roads leading to the gate blocked by the traffic police.

At about 9am police opened the chowk, but due to diversion, most of the people reached their offices late.

DEMONSTRATION: All 280 new recruits of Bahawal Victoria Hospital on Friday demonstrated in front of the MS office in protest against the delay of their medical examinations.

The demonstrators were recently issued appointment letters with the condition that they should get their medical examination within a week. Now when only three days were left, their medical tests were still incomplete.
