ISLAMABAD, May 26: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has appreciated ABN Amro Bank’s plan to enhance strategic investments in Pakistan and increase the number of bank branches from 17 to 50 in Pakistan next couple of years.

The prime minister was talking to Joroen Drost, chief executive officer of ABN Amro Bank, who called on him at the Prime Minister’s House here on Friday.

Mr Aziz informed Mr Joroen of the reforms introduced by the government in financial and banking sectors and its privatisation programme that had led to increased inflow of foreign capital into the country.

Mr Joroen said the impressive improvement in Pakistan’s economy had encouraged his bank to expand its operations in Pakistan.
