NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, May 25: Two head constables were locked up for three hours on Thursday for dereliction of duty. Moro TPO Makhdoom Ghulam Mohammad punished head constables Ali Nawaz Bhurat and Ayaz Solangi for not performing their duties properly and lodged them in the police lock-up.

Later, they were released and directed to report at police lines.

ARRESTED: Policeman Gulab Molhan was arrested on Thursday after an accused had escaped from his custody.

Yousuf Buriro, who had been lodged at the Moro police station, had escaped. However, he was re-arrested after three hours from a vehicle going to Nawabshah.

RALLY: Activists of the Sindh People’s Youth Organisation took out a procession on Thursday in Moro to protest against the media trial of Benazir Bhutto and demolition of villages in Karachi.

Around 100 activists led by Aajiz Dhamrah took to streets in Moro and also staged a demonstration.

They said the government was carrying out a media trial against Benazir Bhutto to damage her political image.

They condemned the demolition of villages in Karachi, saying that the people of Karachi were aware of dual policy of the Sindh government.
