PESHAWAR: IT exhibition opens

PESHAWAR, May 25: Provincial Information Technology Minister Hussain Ahmad Kanju has said that information technology could help create jobs in the country and strengthen the national economy.

He was speaking at the inauguration of a three-day PC Fungama Exhibition organised by Intel Company Pakistan Ltd here.

The minister called upon young people to acquire the latest IT skills, knowledge and expertise.

“Such exhibitions provide a boost to the information technology sector,” the minister said after visiting the stalls in the company of the IT secretary Umar Afridi.

Each stall in the Fungama exhibition showcased technologically advanced computers and laptops. The exhibition will continue till May 26.

The IT minister said that the Intel had introduced new trends in the information technology sector by producing quality products. He said that the personal computer scheme started by Intel could help promote IT culture in the country as government employees could now purchase PCs on easy instalments. —APP
