KARACHI, May 25: The Saddar Town has launched a special campaign against alleged manufacturing and trade of substandard food items in the town.

In this connection, a team led the Nazim, Saddar Town, Muhammad Dilawer, conducted raids on different shops and small manufacturing units in Garden to check their alleged involvement in trade and manufacturing of substandard food items, said a statement on Thursday.

Raids were carried out on two hotels, one bakery and one mineral water manufacturing unit. Samples of water, salt, oil and flour were also collected.

Samples of these items have also been sent to laboratories to examine their standard.

Speaking on the occasion, the town nazim said that the objective of the campaign was to check the manufacturing and trade of substandard food items.—APP
