KARACHI, May 25: A memorandum of understanding will soon be signed between the University of Dhaka and the University of Karachi.
This was stated by the head of a 17-member delegation of educationists from Bangladesh, Prof Dr S M Faiz, during a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Karachi, Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, on Thursday.
Prof Faiz, who is also Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dhaka, shed light in detail on the academic activities of the universities of Bangladesh especially of the Dhaka University. He also showed keen interest in the education system in vogue at KU.
Prof Faiz further stated that his institution and the University of Karachi would soon sign an MoU.
Prof Pirzada said that through faculty exchange and research development programme, ties between both two countries in the realms of education and research could be strengthened.
He said that scientists of the brotherly country could benefit from the modern research centres of KU especially those of chemical sciences, biological sciences as well as the PhD programme of natural product chemistry.
The head of the Department of Urdu at Dhaka University,
Prof Umme Kulsoom, on the occasion said that the future of Urdu was very bright in Bangladesh.—APP
