KARACHI, May 25: Two ships carrying containers were berthed at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, two more shops to load and offload rice and furnace oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy fell to 56 per cent as seven ships were occupying berths to load and offload containers, rice, sugar, diesel oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 49,799 tons comprising 30,070 tons of import and 19,729 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailings were active as Sealand Mariner, Asia Trader and Sita Mia left the port while CMA CGM Kingston and Carolina were due to depart.

Four ships, Al-Wajba, Xiang Wan, Vema Ocean and Holly Galaxy were expected to take berths. While three ships, Ville De Mars, Natalia and Great Marry were due on Friday.
