KARACHI, May 24: The Shaheen Airways was allowed on Wednesday its domestic and international flight operations by Civil Aviation Authority after it cleared its outstanding dues.
CAA director of air traffic, Tahir Ehsan Malik, said the airline was given permission to resume its flight operation around 3pm after it cleared its dues.
The CAA official, however, said the flight operations of the Aero Asia remained suspended as the airline has not yet paid its dues. “Their operation will be restored only after payment of current outstanding dues or till the resolution of the issue by the ministry of defence,” he added.
The aviation regulatory authority had suspended on Monday operations of the two private sector airlines after their failure to pay dues for the past two months.The top management of the two airlines held on Tuesday negotiations with the CAA on the issue. The Shaheen Airways agreed to clear off its outstanding dues to the tune of Rs56 million, but the Aero Asia disputed the amount of the Rs88 million.
