KARACHI, May 24: Six ships, including two carrying 26,500 tons of sugar, are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where nine ships were berthed to load and unload containers and general cargo. They are: Johar, Clipper Kristin, oil tanker, APL Pusan, Kota Teraju, Mac Alandersev Swala, Sinar Bontang, Kota Mesra, Kota Wangi, to unload and load containers, and Bonasia, to offload fertiliser.

Sailing was also active as seven ships, Orient Independence, Maersk Alabama, Mac Alanderev Swala, Pacific Emerald, Haje Khereh, Bi Bi-M and Ocean Sunrays, departed, while Marina S.R, Derya Yog, APL Pusan, Johar, Kota Teraju, Kota Wangi, Dubai Gold, Clipper Kristan and Iran Baabaei are due to sail out on Thursday.

The cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.137m tons comprising 26,482 tons of export cargo and 0.111m tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Al-Marwah, with chemicals, Calvin P. Titus, with containers, Rainbow Spring and Pacific Sun, with 10,500 and 16,000 tons of sugar, and Iran Butterfly, with project cargo.
