Orakzai takes oath today

ISLAMABAD, May 23: President General Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday appointed Lt-Gen (retd) Ali Mohammad Jan Orakzai as governor of the North-West Frontier Province, says a notification. According to another notification, former NWFP governor Khalilur Rehman was appointed special assistant to the prime minister with the status of a federal minister.

The newly-appointed governor and the special assistant to the prime minister will take oath on Wednesday.

The prime minister told reporters that he had received the notification of Lt-Gen (retd) Orakzai’s appointment as governor.
