LAHORE, May 23: Shaukat Javed and Syed Khawer Shah have been retained unanimously as president and secretary of the Pakistan Federation of Baseball (PFB) for four years (2006-10). Abdul Khaliq Khan, secretary Pakistan Olympic Association and Amir Hamza Gillani, Director Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) represented their respective institutions as observers.
Shaukat Javed said that the future of the game in Pakistan was bright after winning the Asia Cup qualifiers in Islamabad in April this year.
He said that the federation would promote the game at the grassroots level for which a detailed programme would be prepared, focusing on schools and colleges.
The general body also approved the new constitution of the PFB.
Secretary Khawer said that the new constitution was necessary after the PFB had been separated from the softball federation.
The POA had granted the affiliation to the PFB this year after separating the softball federation.

President: Shaukat Javed.
Senior-vice-president: Col. Shujat Ali Khan (Army).
Vice-presidents: Wasal Khan (NWFP), Tanzeela Aamir Cheema (Women wing).
