KARACHI, May 23: Three ships scheduled to load and offload containers and chemicals were accommodated berths at QICT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, three more ships carrying containers and iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 67 per cent as seven ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, sugar, crude oil and chemicals. A cargo volume of 59,839 tons comprising 47,319 tons of import and 12,520 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailings were brisk as Socotra, Scan Brasil, New Toyokaze and Onozo left the port while Liquid Success was due to depart.

Three ships, Sealand Mariner, Trinity and Sita Mia, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage. While four container ships, Indonesia Star, CMA CGM Kingston, Asian Trader and Xiang Wan, were expected to reach on Wednesday.
