KARACHI, May 22: A dozen ships, including two carrying 31,000 tons of sugar, are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. Owing to steady arrivals of both local and foreign flag ships, berthing activity at the wharves gathered a fresh momentum where 10 ships were berthed.

They are: Yang Jiang He, Ilse Wuff, Thor Captain, Wan Hai-303, Orient Independence, and Emerald Sea, to unload and load containers, Darya Yog, Haje Khereh, to offload and load general cargo, Elka Aristotle and Shalamar, with crude oil.

Sailing was also active as the same number of vessels departed including MOL Silver Fern, Yang Jiang He, Ilse Wuff, Swat, Badulu Valley, Sea Reliance, Raibma, Khairpur, Golinaand and Thamisa Naree departed, while Wan Hai-303, Emerald Sea, Darya Yog, Ever Gather, Thor Captain, Shalamar, Maersk Alabama, and Haje Khereh are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was fairly brisk where a total tonnage of 0.151m tons comprising 15,290 tons of export cargo and 0.0.136m tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Kota Teraju, Sinar Bontang, APL Pusan, Mac Aandesew Swara, Satha Bhum, Kota Mesra, Kota Wangi, with containers, Bonasia, with 37,800 tons urea, Amar, and Pacific Sun-2, with 13,289 and 18,000 tons of sugar, respectively, and Seven Star, with 6,000 tons of sulphur.
