Two human smugglers arrested

GUJRANWALA, May 21: The FIA passport cell claimed on Sunday to have arrested two human smugglers from Lahore and Alipur Chattha.

Reports said Waqas Aslam and M.Latif were wanted by FIA for involvement in sending people abroad after extorting hundreds of thousands of rupees. The agency received information that they were present at their houses. A raiding team arrested Waqas from Lahore railway colony and Latif from Alipur Chattha.

ACCIDENT: A trader of Sialkot was killed while his wife and daughter hurt in an accident near Nandipur on Sialkot Road on Sunday.

Reports said Kamran along with his family was on way to Gujranwala from Sialkot by his car. Near Nandipur, a bus hit it from the rear, killing Kamran on the spot and injuring his wife Safia Bibi and daughter Irum. The injured were rushed to DHQ hospital in a critical condition.

CONTROL ROOMS: The Gujranwala Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has set up 20 control rooms at all district and tehsil headquarters for intermediate annual examination to be started from May 25.

A main control room has been formed at board complex under the supervision of the chairman.

This was stated by BISE chairman Masudul Haq while speaking at a briefing in his office here on Sunday.

He said roll number slips had already been dispatched. However, he directed the candidates to immediately contact the board’s inter branch in case of non-receipt of slips.
