ISLAMABAD May 21: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will hold a pre-budget consultation session with 30-member central executive committee (CEC) of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League on Monday (today).

The PML government is in the process of drafting a budget to provide relief to common man, keeping in view the next general elections.

The prime minister, who returned from his visit to three African countries on Sunday, had asked the PML leadership in the last CEC meeting to invite budget proposals from the party leadership. Minister of state and party’s secretary information Senator Tariq Azeem Khan told Dawn that budgetary proposals had been received in a large number from across the country and the same would be presented in the CEC meeting which would have one-point agenda of budget orientation. He said the prime minister would be accompanied by a couple of senior finance ministry officials for receiving the proposals.
