KARACHI, May 21: The one-kilometre road between Nagan Chowrangi and Anda Morr, built in August last year, turns into a horrible strip of land for pedestrians from dusk to dawn in the absence of streetlights.
Work on this road had commenced during the tenure of Niamatullah Khan as city nazim and had been inaugurated by Adviser to the CM on Local Government Waseem Akhtar. Although, the road is properly maintained and serves as a dual-carriage way of international standard, it has been without streetlights.
Taking advantage of darkness, robbers would enjoy a freehand in depriving people of their valuables on this road. In the absence of streetlights, risk of traffic accidents is also high.—PPI
