KARACHI, May 20: The Karachi Coordination Committee of the Pakistan People’s Party on Saturday observed that the law and order in the province had collapsed, and alleged that the government had failed to protect life and honour of citizens.
The committee met at the Bilawal House under the chairmanship of Aftab Sha’aban Mirani. The party’s Sindh President Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Nawab Yousuf Talpur, Taj Haider, Prof N. D. Khan, Sherry
Rehman and Nafees Siddiqui were among those who attended the meeting.
It dilated upon the issue of demolition of Sindhis’ villages in Karachi, and made it clear that the people of Sindh would not allow any such conspiracy to succeed.
The issue of an acute shortage of irrigation water across the province was also discussed and the situation was blamed on the regime. The committee noted that the government had crippled agricultural economy of Sindh.
The meeting demanded that the rotation programme for supply of irrigation water to growers be advertised as this had never been introduced before.
