UC nazim injured by robbers

OKARA, May 19: The city union council nazim was shot at and injured by robbers at busy Katchery Bazaar on Friday. The robbers, however, managed to take away ornaments from another car occupants.

According to reports, city nazim Afzal Palji was going pass the market by a car when armed men stopped him and forced him to come out of the car. As he pushed away a robber, one of the armed men shot at and injured him.

The robbers stopped another vehicle and snatched gold ornaments from women.

Nazim Afzal Palji was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital where he was immediately operated upon.

Meanwhile, the DSP city arrived at the DHQ hospital and said a patrol squad had arrested four robbers with illicit weapons and a car they had driven away with.
