PESHAWAR, May 19: The City District Government of Peshawar and Pakistan-Turkish Education Foundation signed an agreement on Friday to set up a modern educational institute in Peshawar.

District nazim Haji Ghulam Ali assured a visiting delegation of the foundation that all out support would be provided for setting up the project. He said the district government would donate land and other facilities to help materialise the plan.

He said Pakistani people were proud of the friendly, time-tested relations with Turkey. He appreciated efforts of the Turkish government for setting up the education centre for the people of Peshawar.

Earlier, foundation chairman Ismail Nazliak briefed the nazim about the aims and objectives of the project. He said that scientific education, religious knowledge, and technical and vocational education would be imparted in the institute.

He said one of objectives of setting up the institute was to remove sectarian differences.—APP
