HYDERABAD, May 19: The nazim of a union council on Friday accused another union council nazim belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) asking him to keep quiet shut during district council sessions after he drew the session’s attention towards some problems.

Mehboob Abro, nazim of union council No.2, Qasimabad taluka, told a news conference at the press club on Thursday afternoon that when he raised some issues of public interest in the May 17 district council session.

After the session ended, the nazim of union council No.9, Latifabad, Raheel Kaimkhani alias Rajoo, threatened to eliminate him if he did not keep his mouth shut during the district council session’s proceedings, he alleged.

He charged that the district government was trying to intimidate him by registering false cases against him and urged all the political and social welfare organizations as well as nationalist groups to extend him support.

Mr Abro was flanked by his naib nazim, Afroze, Shamshad Memon and others at the news conference.
