Envoys’ moot to discuss market access

ISLAMABAD, May 19: The ministry of commerce will hold a two-day regional envoy conference in Singapore to promote commercial relations, especially in the East Asian region.

An official announcement issued here on Friday said that the conference to start on Sunday will be attended among others by the commerce minister and chairman Export Promotion Bureau.

Pakistani envoys and commercial representatives in Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam will gather to share their experiences, opinions and analysis and will contribute to formulate a strategy for market access, trade promotion, and foreign direct investments for Pakistan.

They will discuss the market access agreement of the country under their jurisdiction with other countries, and future outlook of trade relations of Pakistan with these countries.

Obstacles, bottlenecks and opportunities for Pakistan’s exports and suggestions for better market access will also be discussed.
