Industrial revolution in Punjab

SIALKOT, May 19: Provincial Industries and Investment Minister Muhammad Ajmal Cheema has said that efforts were being made for bringing industrial revolution in the province.

Addressing a function of Sialkot Display Centre held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Friday, the minister said that the government had adopted a liberal and business-friendly policy enabling both local and foreign investors to set up new industrial units in the province.

He said that the Punjab chief minister had already announced the construction of Sialkot-Lahore motorway to facilitate the business community of Sialkot. The completion of the motorway would play an instrumental role in further accelerating the pace of trade and commerce activities in this export-oriented city, he said.

Ajmal Cheema said that the proposed motorway would be accomplished at a cost of Rs20 billion and this mega project would be carried out soon.—APP
