Fire at BVH

BAHAWALPUR, May 18: Scores of beds and equipment was burnt in a fire which erupted in the nursery section of the children’s ward, Bahawal Victoria Hospital, here on Thursday.

Luckily, some 20 infants admitted there were rescued, thanks to a timely action by staff on duty.

Local fire brigade staff later put out the blaze believed to be caused by electric short-circuit.

PROTEST: The Markazi Anjuman-i-Tajran and Sarafa Association on Thursday protested against the district government and the TMA for alleged harrasment of shopkeepers in the name of anti-encroachment campaign.
