KHAIRPUR, May 18: Relatives of three people kidnapped a few days ago have expressed apprehensions that the kidnappers might have killed them.

The relatives of Mohammad Hassan, 26, Hidayat, 25, and Malhan, 30, all Narejo by caste, were talking MPA Naeem Ahmed Kharal on Thursday.

Naeem Kharal told Dawn that the relatives of the victims had told him they feared that the three young men might have been murdered.

Mr Kharal regretted that police were showing no interest in the case. Had it been a political matter, police would have arrested some councillors and political workers within no time.

The three villagers had gone for threshing wheat at a place near their village Mian Bux on May 15, and did not return home. The relatives said dacoit Mubeen Narejo and his gang had killed the three.

It is said the group of Mubeen Narejo and some villagers had developed a dispute 10 years ago.

Talking to Dawn on phone, DPO Khairpur Javed Ahmed Jiskani did not rule out the possibility that the three Narejos had been killed after kidnapping.

However, he said that the killing could not be confirmed unless their bodies were found.

Mr Jiskani said the relatives had not registered an FIR regarding kidnapping of the villagers.—Correspondent
