Qaddafi, Aziz agree to boost relations


TRIPOLI (Libya), May 17: Libyan President Muammer Qaddafi on Wednesday hosted a banquet in honour of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and members of his delegation.

Mr Aziz, who is on a two-day visit to Libya, earlier held detailed discussions with the Libyan leader and agreed to enhance ties in diverse fields.

Mr Aziz on the occasion conveyed greetings from the people and President Pervez Musharraf to Col Qaddafi and appreciated his country’s generous and timely assistance to Pakistan following the devastation caused by the Oct 8 earthquake.

He also spoke of the vast potential between the two countries in trade, banking, investment and many other diverse areas and said it will bring the two countries further closer.—APP
