Said grabs gold

By Our Sports Reporter

ISLAMABAD, May 17: Said Hassan won the first ever gold medal for the Pakistan Military team that took part in the 11th World Military boxing championship (CISM) in Almaty (Kazakhstan).

A product of the Army's Young Boys Scheme, Said, was competing in his first major competition and showed no signs of nervousness in picking up the gold.

A press release of the Army Sports Directorate said that besides the gold, the team also won two silver medals through Faisal Karim and Shoukat Ali Chatta. It is the first time that Pakistan claimed more than one medal at the CISM Championship.

The six boxers who got selected for the Games were all from the Army, the release said. The championship was held from May 9-14.
