Sehrish puts Lahore into final

LAHORE, May 17: All-round performance by Woman-of-the-Match Sehrish Munir enabled Lahore College University to enter final of the first inter-varsity women cricket championship, defeating Sargodha University by 48 runs in the semifinals on Wednesday.

Sehrish excelled with the bat, scoring 62 to help her team collect 145-7 in 20 overs. She hit 10 fours and faced 62 balls, before she was run out by Rabia. Bisma Idrees (22), Tayyaba (16) were the other two main scorers.

When Sargodha University batted Sehrish once again showed her prowess with the leather snapping up four wickets for 13 runs in 2.4 overs, as Sargodha University were 97-8 in 17.4 overs when the umpires declared Lahore College as winners because the losers' were unable to score 49 more runs off 14 balls. Rabia Batool was the top scorer for the losers with 28.

The second semifinals will be played between Punjab University and Sindh University on Thursday.
