Pakistan and Morocco to sign trade agreements

RABAT, May 17: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz is expected in Morocco on Thursday for a two-day visit aimed at reaching cooperation agreements, Rabat said on Wednesday.

In particular, a deal on double taxation is expected, alongside other economic, cultural and industrial agreements.

Mr Aziz, accompanied by a delegation that includes the foreign minister and ministers for education and economic affairs, will meet Moroccan Prime Minister Driss Jettou on Thursday, Mr Jettou’s office said.

This will be Mr Aziz’s first visit to Morocco.

Trade between the two countries is very limited. In 2005, it totalled 94.6 million euros ($121 million), with Morocco exporting seven times more than it imported.

It was not yet known on Wednesday whether or not Mr Aziz would be meeting King Mohammed VI.—AFP
