KARACHI, May 17: Three ships including a vehicle carrier with 1,394 units are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Iran Sattari, APL Osaka, Jade Trader, to unload and load containers and Grande Sicilia, to offload cars.

Five vessels, Iran Shahryar, Maersk Alabama, MOL Accord, Grande Sicilia and Oram Glory departed on Wednesday, while Iran Sattari, APL Osaka, Jade Trader, Corin Thaikos, Kota Wajar, Hyundai Sprinter and Furia-R are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was light owing to lesser handling of liquid tonnage, fall to 49,611 tons comprising 17,722 tons of export cargo, including 2,546 tons of rice and 31,889 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Eric G. Gibson, with containers, Heric Ace, with 1,394 vehicles, and Haje Kheereh, to offload general cargo.
