Zaman Gul banned for life

KARACHI, May 16: Pakistan’s former ranked player, Mir Zaman Gul, has been banned for life for threatening a World Squash Federation (WSF) official during a tournament in Islamabad last December.

Jahangir Khan, president of the WSF, said on Tuesday that although the incident happened six months back but the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) had informed them only last week.

Australian Chris Sinclair complained to the WSF that Zaman Gul had threatened her of dire consequence if she did not clear him as a referee during the world team championships.

Zaman was on the list of markers who conducted the championships under Sinclair's supervision.

The life ban means that Zaman Gul will have nothing to do with squash in future.—Agencies
