KARACHI, May 16: Two ships carrying containers were berthed at the QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday. Two container ships — one edible oil vessel and one diesel oil tanker — sailed. Four more ships carrying containers, edible oil and furnace oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Six ships — MSC Dymphna, Xiang Wan, Nedlloyd Muscat, Askabat, Global Challenger and Al-Maqwa -– are at the port to load and offload containers, rice, seeds and diesel oil.

Cargo throughput stood at 63,191 tons comprising 45,974 tons of import and 17,217 tons of export.

Four ships — MSC Dymphna, Xiang Wan, Dococmo and Al-Maqwa — sailed out, while Denderah Rickmers, Sealand Freedom, Golden Fareast and Vema Ocean are currently at outer anchorage.

Three ships, Sealand Freedom, Golden Fareast and Vema Ocean, are expected to take berths on Tuesday.

Three ships, Tui King, Fair Mike and Warbah, are due to arrive on Tuesday to load and offload rice, carbon oil and diesel oil, while five more ships, Gallant Wave, Indonesia Star, Mumbai Express, MSC Camillie and Trinity, with Container and iron ore are due arrive on Wednesday.
