Hingis to face youngster


ROME, May 15: Martina Hingis, considered a veteran at age 25 in today's youth-driven world of tennis, will put her “senior” status on the line at the Rome Masters when she faces 17-year-old Czech Nicole Vaidisova.

The unseeded Swiss crushed Italy's Sara Errani 6-0, 6-1 on Monday to reach the Foro Italico second round, where she faces world number 15 Vaidisova, who booked her place 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 over Finn Emma Laine.
