KARACHI, May 14: On the directive of Chief Minister’s Adviser on Finance M.A. Jalil, the long pending issue of payment of salaries to the employees of district governments, towns and union councils under the new local government system was resolved by the finance department.
The employees were not receiving their salaries regularly and remained unpaid for several months.
Taking notice of their problems, the adviser issued orders for release of share to the city government, town and union council administrations before the end of this month so that the employees were paid salaries on the first of month.
The finance department has started implementing the adviser’s order and all district governments in Sindh had been released Rs274.616 million as Octroi share while towns were given Rs511.92 million and union councils Rs110.3 million.
M.A. Jalil has also issued directives to all DCOs and TMOs to ensure that employees are paid salaries on time so that they may not face any inconvenience and continue to discharge their duties without restlessness. He warned that no slackness in this regard would be tolerated.—APP
