PESHAWAR, May 13: Five candidates are in the run for the post of president of the Peshawar High Court Bar Association in the elections scheduled for May 27.

The election commissioner for the polls, Akhter Ali Khan Nahki, issued final list of candidates for different offices on Saturday.

The candidates for the post of the president are: Qaiser Rashid of the Awami National Party-backed Malgaray Wakeelan, S. M. Atiq Shah of the Peoples Layers Forum, Mussarat Ullah of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) and independent candidates Atlas Khan Dagai and Syed Sardar Hussain.

For the post of vice-president the contesting candidates are Ishtiaq Ahmad, Mohammad Saleem Toru and Shakeel Ahmad.

Those contesting for the post of general secretary are Bahlol Khattak, Gulab Shah, Khalid Anwer Afridi and Nek Nawaz Khan.

The candidates for the post of joint secretary are Ahmadzeb Khan, Ashfaq Ahmad Jhagra, Inayatullah Khan, Saeed Akhter Durrani and Saeed Shah Bukhari.

Four candidates each will contest for the posts of treasurer and library secretary.
