KARACHI, May 13: Normal shipping activity was witnessed at the port where three ships to load/unload 1,157 containers, diesel oil and edible oil were allotted berths at QICT, Fotco oil terminal and MPT, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Berth occupancy remained at 67 per cent on Friday where a total of six ships were provided berths to load/unload containers, rice, sugar, edible oil, diesel and iron ore.

The port handled a cargo volume of 65,834 tons, comprising 53,609 tons imports and 12,225 tons exports, including containerised cargo carried in 883 containers.

Four ships —two bulk cargo carriers, one edible oil vessel and one diesel oil tanker sailed out during the last 24 hours.
