KARACHI, May 11: Five ships carrying containers, general cargo and coal are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where eight vessels were berthed to unload and load containers and soyabean meal. They are: Thor Captain, Mol Kauri, Y.M. Moon, Hyundai Stride, Inaba to unload and load containers, Ji Xaing Kuo to unload and load general cargo, Liberty Glory to unload soyabean meal and Shalamar to offload crude oil.

Sailing was also active as seven ships, Global Progress, Kota Wangsa, Kota Tabah, An Ming Jiang, APL Jeddah, Zara-3 and Swat departed, while Ji Xiang Kou, Precious, Y.M. Moon, Inaba, Shalamar and Yellow Knife are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 93,917 tons including 18,358 tons of export cargo and 75,559 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following vessels are due on Friday: Hanjin Busan, with containers, Bi Bi-M, Furia-R with coal, Haje Khereh, with general cargo andyoung Xiang-9, with project cargo.
