KARACHI, May 10: Sindh Senior Minister for Excise and Taxation Syed Sardar Ahmed said on Tuesday that the private sector was being involved in motor registration in pursuence to the policy of President Pervez Musharraf.

Stating this at a meeting convened to discuss and solve problems faced by people in motor registration, the minister said that online computerised motor registration through private couriers would start in the first week of June.

The minister explained that as per the new procedure, a buyer of vehicle would submit documents at a TCS collection centre where they would be checked and forwarded to the excise department for verification.

During the process, the buyer would be issued a computerized tracking number and courier slip. The entire procedure would be online computerised.—APP
