KARACHI: 100 ambulances for Sindh’s hospitals

KARACHI, May 10: The Sindh Health Minister, Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani, has announced that a fleet of 100 ambulances have been sanctioned for different provincial government hospitals across Sindh.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of state-of-the-art centre for people living with HaIV/Aids on Wednesday, the minister said that these ambulances would be available to the identified health care facilities within a month's time.

One of the ambulances will also be given to the centre, inaugurated on the premises of the Services Hospital in Karachi.

He said that provision for these ambulances had also been ensured for the Expanded Programme on Immunization Cell along with the urban-based tertiary care facilities, rural health centres and so forth.

He said the appropriate use of these ambulances would be ensured, adding that these would be strictly used for the benefit of patients and not for the transportation of doctors and other hospital staffers.—APP
