KARACHI: MQM says JI hatching conspiracies

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, May 9: In a statement, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's coordination committee on Tuesday said the Jamaat-i-Islami under its combatant and anti-Sindh policies was hatching conspiracies to destroy peace in Sindh particularly in Karachi.

The committee referred to a circular, allegedly released by JI for its office bearers, and said that it was aimed at spreading annoyance and irritation and destabilizing the government in Sindh.

It was further said that the JI, which was part of the governments in the NWFP and Balochistan, had been closing eyes on lawlessness, bomb blasts, killings and attacks on government installations in the two provinces and was failing to fulfil its responsibilities there.

But, on the other hand, it was constantly trying to give a blow to stability and the prevailing peaceful atmosphere in Sindh, which had improved due to the efforts of the MQM and the people of the province.

The Rabita Committee said that after a complete failure of its evil conspiracies against Sindh, the JI under instructions from Mansoora, Lahore, had now again hatched a conspiracy to sabotage the peace measures taken by the government in Sindh.

The JI circular has been aimed at breeding hatred and fanning bitterness and destabilizing the Sindh government, it added, saying that people should remain alarmed.
