KARACHI: Four remanded in kidnapping for ransom case


KARACHI, May 9: Administrative judge of the anti-terrorism courts in Karachi on Tuesday remanded four suspects to police custody till May 15 for their alleged involvement in a kidnapping for ransom case.

Shaukat Ali 23, Mujtaba Hussain 32, Shahzad, 23, and Mohammad Saleem, 39, were produced before AJ Justice Khliji Arif Hussain of Sindh High Court for obtaining their remand.

The police said that the accused, along with absconding co-accused Nasir Baloch, kidnapped Shabbir Ali from Soldier Bazar area Karachi on April 24.

It was charged that the accused demanded Rs2 million for release of abductee and later released him after receiving Rs4,00,000 as ransom from his family member on April 27.—PPI
