KARACHI, May 9: Eight ships carrying containers, coal and to load rice are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, Swat to unload crude oil, Mol Asanta, Maersk Alabama, Tai He and Global Progress to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of three.

The ships, which departed included Conti Harmony, Conti Express and Al-Marwah, while Tai He, Maersk Alabama, CMA CGM Simba, Mol Asanta, Swat, Global Express and Kota Tabah are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 78,605 tons comprising 14,887 tons of export cargo and 63,718 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Kota Wangsa, Hyundai Stride, Thor Captain, Inaba, with containers, Khalijia-2, with coal, Ji Xiang Kou and Haje Kheroh, with general cargo and IBM Bassam to load 18,000 tons of rice.
