KARACHI: HSC exams from 16th

KARACHI, May 8: The HSC Annual Examinations 2006 of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi will commence from May 16. This was stated by BIEK Chairman Prof Syed Iftikhar Hussain Zaidi on Monday. He said, “All the arrangements are being made top hold these exams in a peaceful and transparent manner.”

According to him, about 215,000 candidates will appear in the exams to be conducted at over 100 exam centres. These centres have been finalised on the recommendation of senior professors, who had visited the venues and inspected the facilities.

Iftikhar Zaidi said the higher authorities had been approached for deployment of Rangers and police at these exam centres. He said that more than 15 exam centres had been identified as the 'sensitive ones' and the authorities concerned had been informed accordingly. —APP
