Seven die in accident

CHAKWAL, May 7: Seven people were killed and eight received multiple injuries when a speedy wagon hit a truck on the Lahore-Islamabad motorway in the salt range, some 35 Km from here, on Sunday.

The accident occurred when driver of the Faisalabad-bound wagon tried to overtake a truck on a sharp steep turn and lost control of the vehicle. The wagon hit the truck from behind and both the vehicles turned turtle on the motorway.

As a result, Abdul Hameed (Faisalabad), Mohammad Riaz (Jhang), Mohammad Yousaf (Jhang), Mohammad Hanif (Jhang), Haneef Ahmad (Pindi Bhatian), Ghulam Mohammad (village Khewa) and his nephew, whose name could not be ascertained, died on the spot.
