HYDERABAD, May 7: Hyderabad district qualified to participate in 10th Sindh Games by winning cycle race, hockey final and swimming competition in Sindh Sports Board Inter-district Regional Games 2006 on Sunday.
The race started from Sindh University and ended at Niaz Stadium. Dadu secured second position.
In the hockey final, Hyderabad defeated Dadu 9-2 at the Board’s Stadium.
Aamir Ahmed, Saifullah, Junaid Hassan, Qamar Waheed, Javed Hussain, Mohammad Rizwan and Saleem Ahmed scored for the winners.
In football semifinals, Hyderabad defeated Jamshoro 3-2 while Tando Allahyar defeated Dadu 4-1 at Latifabad Bagh-i-Mustafa Ground. Both the teams have qualified for final.
In swimming event held at SSB Sports Complex, Hyderabad clinched first position with 74 points.
Thatta and Tando Allahyar districts secured second and third positions by clinching 34 and 12 points.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad, Thatta, Tando Allahyar and Jamshoro moved into the semifinals of volleyball.—APP
