KARACHI: Korean IT delegation meets Ibad

KARACHI, May 7: Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad has underscored the need for application of information technology in improving people's lives and provision of facilities to them.

He was talking to a Korean IT delegation which along with Sindh Environment and IT Adviser Noman Saigol called on him at the Governor’s House.

Ishratul Ibad said besides acquisition of computers and data collection, there was need for optimum utilisation of technology applications.

He said the objective of e-government and e-policing was not only to install computers and computerise the record but the focus should be on doing away with complications of documentation, greater public access and solution of their problems.

The work on computerisation of records for e-policing and revenue department had been initiated and there was need to complete the same on priority basis, he said. There were more than a dozen revenue forms which, he said, were being reduced. Similarly, a number of registers used in police stations was being curtailed, he added.

Noman Saigol briefed the governor about the details of MoU recently signed between Korean company and Sindh IT department.—APP
