DADU, May 7: A large number of political and social activists took out a procession here on Sunday to protest against unscheduled load-sheddings and increase in prices of foodgrain, fruit, vegetables and other items of everyday use.

They were led by Chairman of Dadu Awami Ittehad, Gul Mohammad Joyo and members Inayat Ali Jamali, Mohammad Khan Channa, Qaim Ali Siyal, Asghar Mallah and Aijaz Ali Lund. Speaking on the occasion, they said officials of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company, Hesco, were carrying out an unannounced load-shedding in different parts of the district for four to five hours almost on daily basis which was adversely affecting the business as well as the lives of the common men.

They said that prices of vegetables, fruit and different items of food were out of reach of the poor people as a result of which people were committing suicide. They demanded an early end to black-marketing of flour, sugar, pulses, rice and the load-sheding.

TWO DIE: Two people died and three others injured when their car hit the cement poles lying on roadside near Jamshoro toll plaza on Saturday night.
