KARACHI: Raise in fares Resented

KARACHI, May 7: People have expressed resentment over the “un-proportional” raise in fares of public transport. Transporters have either increased or plan to increase the fares of buses and coaches.

While buses under the UTS have already raised their fares by Rs2 to Rs3 since May 5.

Meanwhile, the National Transport Ittehad Karachi, in a press statement on Sunday, maintained that due to rise in the prices of petroleum products, spare parts and other accessories, it had become difficult for them to continue with their operations.—APP
