KARACHI, May 7: The Sindh government has reconstituted the board of governors for law colleges in Karachi with effect from May 7. According to a notification issued by the provincial Law Department on Saturday, Aftab Ahmed Shaikh, Senior Advocate Karachi, will act as the board’s chairman.
Its ex-officio members will include Karachi University’s vice chancellor, a Sindh High Court judge nominated by the chief justice, secretary law or his nominee, advocate general, secretary (or additional secretary) Education, vice chairman of provincial bar council, principal Islamia Government Law College, Karachi. The principal of the Sindh Muslim Government Law College will be its secretary/member.
Unofficial members of the board include Justice (Retd) Haider Ali Pirzada, Ali Ahmed Junejo, Senior Advocate, Karachi, Dr Qazi Khalid Ali, ex-minister education, Sayed Hassan Shah Bukhari, retired district and sessions judge, Barrister Muhammad Jamil Chaudhry, Senior Advocate, Karachi, Ubaid-ur-Rehman, Senior Advocate, Karachi, and Farid Ahmed Dayo, Senior Advocate, Karachi.—PPI
